WASH Program
Our WASH program provides expertise and interventions aimed at saving lives, reducing illness by improving access to safe water, sanitation and improved hygiene.
Our WASH Program work on a longterm sustainable prevention and control measures for improving social-economic development, reducing poverty, improving health as well as responding to emergencies and outbreak of WASH related illness.
By providing communities with safe water, sanitation infrastructure and educating people on good hygiene practices, we help local communities achieve a better and improved quality of life.
Climate Change
Save the Slum Initiative empowers vulnerable communities to adapt to climate change through advocacy, capacity building, and sustainable solutions. We implement green livelihood projects, promote disaster risk reduction, and engage in policy advocacy to ensure inclusive climate actions. Our initiatives include tree-planting drives, clean-up campaigns, and training programs, fostering resilience and environmental stewardship in urban slums.


Nutrition
Save the Slum Initiative is committed to improving nutritional outcomes for vulnerable communities by addressing food insecurity and promoting healthy diets. Our programs focus on community-based nutrition education, supporting sustainable agricultural practices, and providing targeted food assistance to at-risk populations. Through partnerships and capacity-building initiatives, we empower individuals to adopt long-term strategies for better nutrition and overall well-being.
Education
Save the Slum Initiative believes in the transformative power of education to break the cycle of poverty. With a big focus on out-of-school children, we provide access to quality education through scholarships, school supplies, and teacher training programs. Our initiatives also emphasize vocational skills development, digital literacy, and educational support for marginalized groups, including women, youth, and persons with disabilities. Food, Security & Livelihood
Save the Slum Initiative addresses food insecurity and promotes sustainable livelihoods to empower vulnerable communities. Our programs focus on climate-smart agriculture, capacity building, and supporting small-scale farmers with resources and training. We implement livelihood projects that create income-generating opportunities, particularly for women and youth, while fostering resilience against economic and environmental shocks. Through these efforts, we aim to build food-secure communities and enhance overall well-being.
Health
Save the Slum Initiative works to improve healthcare access for underserved communities by focusing on immunization, disease prevention, and awareness. We run awareness campaigns on key health issues such as cervical cancer, breast cancer, HIV, tuberculosis, hepatitis B, and more. Our initiatives also aim to reduce preventable diseases, improve maternal and child health, and enhance overall community well-being through education and targeted healthcare services.


Peace building & Conflict Resolution
Save the Slum Initiative promotes peace and stability by fostering community dialogue, building local capacity in conflict resolution, and supporting reintegration programs for individuals affected by violence. We also integrate Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) and Psychosocial Support (PSS) to aid in healing and resilience-building. Through these efforts, we empower communities to resolve conflicts peacefully and contribute to long-term stability and development.
Advocacy, Policy & Research
Save the Slum Initiative advocates for policies that support vulnerable communities, focusing on health, education, gender, and climate change. Our research covers critical areas such as the impact of climate change, food security, menstrual health, peacebuilding, and disease prevention. Through evidence-based solutions, we inform policy decisions and ensure marginalized voices are heard, driving positive change and promoting equity.
